Preface
Milk powder, especially infant formula milk powder, serves as a critical nutritional source in early life. The accuracy of nutrient content and formulation safety directly affect infants’ growth and development as well as their long-term health. As essential trace elements, zinc and iron play vital roles in immune system development and hematopoiesis. Accordingly, precise quantification of zinc and iron in milk powder is essential for product quality control and food safety supervision.
In accordance with GB 5009.14-2017 National Food Safety Standard – Determination of Zinc in Foods and GB 5009.90-2016 National Food Safety Standard – Determination of Iron in Foods, an A500 Zeeman atomic absorption spectrometer with outstanding background correction performance and favorable stability is adopted in this study to complete method verification for the detection of zinc and iron in milk powder.
