Milk powder, especially infant formula milk powder, serves as a critical nutritional source in the early life stage. The accuracy of nutrient content and the safety of ingredient ratios directly affect infants’ growth and development as well as their long-term health. As essential trace elements, zinc and iron play vital roles in immune system development and hematopoietic function. Accordingly, accurate quantification of zinc and iron in milk powder is of great significance for product quality control and food safety supervision. In accordance with National Food Safety Standards GB 5009.14-2017 (Determination of Zinc in Food) and GB 5009.90-2016 (Determination of Iron in Food), this study adopts the A500 Zeeman atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Leveraging its superior background correction performance and outstanding stability, we conduct method validation for the detection of zinc and iron in milk powder.
