Determination of Gold in Ore Dissolution Solution (Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry)

  1. Method Overview

The dissolved ore sample is measured for absorbance at 242.8 nm using an atomic absorption spectrometer, and the gold content is quantified by comparison with a standard curve.

2.1 Instruments and Equipment

2.1.1 Detection Instruments

Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (With Gold Hollow Cathode Lamp)

Acetylene (1 bottle,Purity≥99.99%)

Air Compressor (Rated Discharge Pressure: 0.3 MPa )

2.1.2 Pretreatment Equipment

Ultra-Pure Water System

Micropipettes

Volumetric Flasks

2.2 Reagents

2.2.1 Reagents

Hydrochloric Acid

2.3 Standards

2.3.1 Stock Solution

GSB04-1715-2004 Gold Standard Stock Solution   1000 μg/mL

  1. 샘플 테스트

3.1 Testing Conditions

Reference testing conditions for the flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer:

Element  Gold

Wavelength (nm)   242.8

Spectral Bandwidth (nm)   0.4

Element Lamp Current (mA)   4.0

Gas Height (mm)   6

Gas Flow Rate (mL/min)   1300

Air Compressor Pressure (MPa)   0.22

3.2 Sample Testing Steps

Adjust the instrument to its optimal working state, ignite the flame, and adjust the gas flow rate. Sequentially test the standard and sample solutions, read the data, input the sample weight, and view and record the results.

3.3 Result Calculation

The gold content in the sample is calculated using the following formula:

어디:

ρ(Au) — Mass concentration of gold in the test solution, in milligrams per liter (mg/L);

m — Mass of gold in the sample obtained from the calibration curve, in micrograms (μg);

V — Volume of the sample solution, in milliliters (mL).
