Ferulic acid in Chuanxiong Rhizoma exerts antioxidant and anti‑inflammatory effects and serves as a critical marker for quality evaluation of raw Chuanxiong medicinal materials and their preparations. An HPLC method was established for ferulic acid quantification in Chuanxiong Rhizoma in accordance with chromatographic specifications specified in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2025 Edition); a C18 chromatographic column was adopted for sample analysis.
In repeatability tests of reference standard solution, the RSD of ferulic acid retention time was 0.108%, the RSD of peak area was 0.554%, the tailing factor was 1.083, and the theoretical plate number reached 15923, all complying with the requirements of the 2025 Edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia. This method can provide technical reference for routine content determination of ferulic acid in Chuanxiong Rhizoma.
