Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China (2025 Edition) Protocol – Determination of Curdione and Germacrone in Wenyujin Rhizoma Preparatum

The determination of curdione and germacrone in Wenyujin Rhizoma Preparatum is newly included in the Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China (2025 Edition). In accordance with the chromatographic conditions specified in the 2025 Edition Chinese Pharmacopoeia, a method was established for the quantitative analysis of curdione and germacrone in Wenyujin Rhizoma Preparatum using a C18 chromatographic column.

The results demonstrate that in repeatability tests of reference standard solution: RSD of retention time for curdione and germacrone ≤ 0.091%; RSD of peak area ≤ 0.328%; Tailing factors are 1.035 and 1.019 respectively; The theoretical plate number of germacrone peak reaches 152410, complying with the requirements of the Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China (2025 Edition). This method can serve as a reference for the determination of curdione and germacrone in Wenyujin Rhizoma Preparatum.
